Rinky Marwaha Have We All Not Observed About The Last Wish Of People Before They Die? November 17, 2016 https://www.nakedtruth.in/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Have-We-All-Not-Observed.jpg

Forewarned is forearmed. This is an old prophetic quotation. That, if you’re prepared, or have adjudged the pros and cons of any given situation, of is aware of any challenge that is coming your way, you will score well over your enemies. Such is life, is what is told to us.

That, also forever be on your toes, for you never know which way the next dagger may come from. And, why just be alert about daggers – it is a must to keep your eyes and ears open so that you are always in the know of what can happen next.

Even in the present day context, all the above-mentioned tales and wise pearls of wisdom hold true. Also, that what one does during the hours at home, or when one is officially not at work, are equally important. Do we not tell our children not to vile away their time watching television or endlessly listening to music, but pick up a good book and read? Or do we not guide them to do some puzzles or play a few knowledgeable board games and not just sit around with friends and gossip?

So, why do we insist on such activities for them? We do this to make them realise the value of time and of the act of being prepared for hard work. If they are already attuned enough to not waste precious moments in doing something which does not bear fruit, they will always challenge themselves to squeeze in more work in their time even as adults.

Such tendencies are sowed in childhood. Do not keep lying on the bed just staring at the ceiling, instead take a walk in your garden and see the trees and plants…or do not get into day dreaming just for the sake of it, but utilise that time to reconnect with your hobbies and interests. Such words often come out of parents and grandparents, motivators, and all well wishers, alike. All this is done to inculcate the importance of keeping occupied in a gainful manner. If a child learns this, as an adult he or she will never squander away the most valuable commodity called time doing meaningless things.

Work

And not throwing away time helps, helps a lot in fact in the school of life. Have we all not read about the last wish of people before they die? That most of them ask for some time more to spend with their near and dear ones, or to do some act of charity, or just to have more of a connect with they themselves, that’s how precious time is…so do not let go of it. Says Khushboo Verma, a young student from Gurugram, “my mother always tells me that a moment gone will never come back again, use it, use it, use it.”

What is most useful about realising that time spent well will do you good is reflected in the professional world as well. If you prepare for a presentation well, will you not be better when you actually take it? Or, if you do your preparations well enough about a competing product’s pluses and minuses, will you not be better off designing your own product in a better manner? We all know this, understand this, but still sometimes have a lazy bone which will not let us take our non-working hours seriously enough.

There’s a need to get the rid of this lethargy, and SIT UP to do something more productive. Do this not for anyone else, but for your own selves, as it will do YOU more good and a lot more to it.
